50 leaders from 21 OFT Locals attended the Local Leaders Conference on September 20 and 21 at Kalahari Convention Center in Sandusky, OH.
The highlight of Friday evening was a visit from the Democratic candidate for Governor, Ed Fitzgerald. He shared his background and his concerns; local leaders asked questions of him.
On Saturday, Brad Mitchell from Batelle for Kids, a non-profit organization focused on improving student achievement in Ohio, led the group through leadership activities to help clarify the needs of the Locals that can be met by the OFT office. It was obvious from the leadership activities that there are many leadership styles and that all styles are needed to achieve a balanced and effective leadership team.
